Outcome-based pricing

What is pay-per-held-meeting sales software?

Pay-per-held-meeting software charges a fee only when a sales meeting it sourced actually takes place. Booked meetings that no-show cost nothing, and meetings your team would have had anyway are excluded. ClozQ is built on this model.

Why the model exists

Most sales software is priced per seat or by usage credits. You pay whether or not the tool produces anything. Sales tools are now moving toward outcome pricing: in April 2026 HubSpot moved its Breeze Prospecting Agent from a monthly per-contact charge to $1 per lead recommended for outreach (see our breakdown).

Paying per recommended lead is still paying for an input. A held meeting is the output a sales leader actually wants, and the unit an SDR is measured on.

How it differs from pay-per-appointment

Appointment-setting agencies often charge per meeting booked. Booked meetings from cold outbound no-show far more often than inbound ones, so you can pay for meetings that never happen. Pay-per-held-meeting only counts meetings where attendance is verified, from the video call or a confirmed calendar record.

What makes the model fair

  • A written rule per meeting type agreed before billing starts
  • Attribution rules: meetings already in motion, or followed up by your team first, are never billed
  • Evidence per line: the email, the calendar event and the attendance record
  • Disputes that keep a line off the invoice until resolved
  • A spend cap set by the customer

When this model is not a good fit

If you book only a handful of meetings a month, sell mostly through self-serve checkout, or want a bot to email prospects with no human review, per-held-meeting pricing won't suit you. It works best for teams with steady inbound interest and 5 to 50 reps.
